Within the France year Lille National Orchestra is giving performances in 5 Russian cities sponsored by BNP Paribas

BNP Paribas as one of the sponsors of the “Year of France – Russia” contributes to the promotion of French culture in Russia by supporting various art and music projects. At the beginning of the concert season 2010-2011 Lille Philharmonic Orchestra conducted by Jean-Claude Casadesus is giving performances in Russia on September 24-30th. The Lille National Orchestra will perform in Russia for the second time since 1988. On the occasion of the 35th anniversary Jean-Claude Casadesus invites Sophie Fournier, mezzo soprano.

The Russian tour of the National Philharmonic Orchestra starts on the 24th of September at Saint Petersburg Academic Philharmonic Hall, then in Moscow (on September 25th), Nizhny Novgorod (September 26th), Tyumen (28th of September) and Yekaterinburg (September 29th). The concert program includes the compositions of Manuel De Falia, Georges Bizet, Hector Berlioz, and Igor Stravinsky.

Within the international program on the sponsorship of art events, BNP Paribas collaborates with Jean-Claude Casadesus and Lille National Orchestra financing the International Piano Festival taking place in Lille. “Owing to this partnership BNP Paribas has a pleasure of making their clients and employees familiar with the Lille National Orchestra and supporting the international tour, – says Laurent Couraudon, Head of BNP Paribas Group in Russia and President of BNP Paribas ZAO. – This is the reason why among a multitude of programs within the France year in Russia, BNP Paribas, as one of the sponsors of the cultural program, has chosen the Lille National Orchestra”.

The sponsorship of this project is a part of the BNP Paribas sponsorship program, which existed for many years thanks to BNP Paribas Foundation. BNP Paribas Foundation contributes to the cooperation of the Bank with cultural and social spheres by means of initiation the experience exchange in such fields as culture, public health, social security, education and environment.
