Representative office of BNP Paribas in Russia was opened in 1974. In July 2002 BNP Paribas received a banking license which was granted to the subsidiary "BNP Paribas" Closed Joint Stock Company (ZAO).

CARDIF in Russia
In 2007 CARDIF has opened its 100% subsidiary and obtained insurance license in Russia. Having started its operations in Russia in 2008, CARDIF develops its bancassurance business model through partnerships with banks, consumer finance and car finance institutions.
For the period of 2008-2010 CARDIF has established successful partnerships with a number of local and international banking groups including 2 from top-5 Russian banks. For same period CARDIF has insured over 1 million clients.
Today CARDIF provides variety of bancassurance products including creditor protection insurance, payment instrument protection, including mobile phone and travel insurances, Protected Deposit, Individual Protection products including accidental protection and Budget Protection and GAP insurance.
